Donations and Support

The Triumph Fitness Program is currently offered at no cost to participants. A cancer diagnosis is an emotional, physical, and financial drain to a family. Survivors face unforeseen medical expenses, many of which are not covered by insurance. Our goal is to always have adequate funding in place to continue to offer this program for free to my fellow survivors.

In its first year, the Triumph Fitness Program was funded by my award money from the LAF, along with a supplemental donation from a fellow LAF fundraiser. In 2006, the program was funded solely by proceeds from our charity bike ride "Ride for a Reason." See the links section for more about this fantastic event and how you can register for this year's ride.

We are currently applying for grants in order to expand the Triumph Fitness Program's scope and scale. Competition for grant money is fierce, particularly due to the fact that the federal government's funding for cancer has not increased for several years. So support is needed from companies and individuals to keep both the Sacramento and Modesto programs funded. All donations are tax deductible.

Sacramento Triumph Fitness Program

The Sacramento program is administrated by the UC Davis Cancer Center. Donations should be handled as follows:

1. Please make checks out to the "UC Regents".
2. In the "memo" section of the check, please stipulate the following: "Triumph Fitness Program - UCD Cancer Center."
3. Send checks to my attention at my office. Since I am responsible for funding the Sacramento chapter, I need to track all funds being sent to the Cancer Center. In addition, I need to send an accompanying letter directing that all funds are for non-restricted education support.

Modesto Triumph Fitness Program

The Modesto program is administrated by the Memorial Medical Center - A Sutter Health Affiliate. To make donations, contact the Memorial Hospital Foundation at (209) 530-3600.
